10 Horror Movies Audiences Walked Out Of

2. Jason X

Jason X
New Line Cinema

Jason X is one of the final instalments to the Friday The 13th franchise, and is often lambasted as the worst of these films. In this 2001 sci-fi horror flick, serial killer Jason Voorhees goes to space. Yes, you read that right. Space.

This film lacks any true plot form, and was a huge let down for many Friday The 13th fans who had already grown tired of the franchise yet were promised a fresh film to breathe new life into the infamous serial killer's story. At best, the 92 minute runtime allows for a strange and gimmicky fan-service-filled plot to fall way below what was promised upon the film title's release.

Fans who came to watch the franchise's 10th instalment were understandably disappointed in the film as a whole, but more importantly many felt as though their once-favourite serial killer had been reduced to nothing more than another cash grab, also seen with the likes of the Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween franchises, all of which had fantastic villains.

Walking out of this film would have been the kindest thing to do for your brain if you liked Jason as a villain, so we can sympathise with those who did!
