10 Horror Movies Audiences Walked Out On

5. Raw

Terrifier 2

Sadly not the big screen adaptation of WWE's flagship Monday night show, Raw is the feature film debut of French director and screenwriter Julia Ducournau.

Before she was freaking audiences out in 2021 with Titane, Ducournau was making people ill five years earlier with this visceral picture.

Justine, a young vegetarian played by Garance Marillier, is forced to partake in a hazing ritual during her first week at vet school. The process involves students bathing in blood and eating raw rabbit's kidneys, which Julia refuses to do. Obviously. Kidneys are definitely not veggie.

However, she is forced into chowing down on the poor bunny's insides. Julia then develops a craving for flesh and slowly works her way up to eating, that's right, people! Hooray!

Cannibalism is a particularly unpleasant subject for many. Not only is the act itself bloody and violent, but the psychology behind wanting to eat a fellow human is enough to make the hardiest of stomachs turn.

Raw got its fair share of walkouts over this content, but also due to its scenes of sexual violent and mental bullying. Maybe that wrestling adaptation wouldn't have been so bad after all.
