10 Horror Movies Loved By Critics But Hated By Audiences

7. V/H/S/94

V/H/S/94 is the fourth instalment in the "found footage" horror anthology franchise. This time around, a SWAT team infiltrates an abandoned warehouse. Here they find the remains of what looks like a cult's mass suicide along with static-filled televisions. Naturally, one of the TVs begins to play, and our anthology begins.

The first story, Storm drain, is about two newscasters who delve into the sewers in search of a fabled "Rat Man". They first encounter his homeless, sewer-dwelling horde before they are brought before their mutant-god.

The second, The Empty Wake, tells the tale of a young lady who is supervising a wake. She finds herself locked in the funeral home with the guest of honor's reanimated corpse.

Next up is The Subject. Here a mad scientist has been using his kidnapped "patients" as experiments in hopes of creating a human/robot hybrid.

We finish with Terror. Here, an armed militia keeps a vampire captive and uses his blood as an explosive (That's right. It's explosive, but only during the day).

When we return to our SWAT team, they have been dispatched and we are set up for another V/H/S movie.

The film scored a surprising 90% by critics on Rotten Tomatoes, feeling it was more evenly scary than most anthologies. Fans? They chose the eject button, giving it only 45%.
