10 Horror Movies That Actually Benefitted From Bad Acting
3. The Wicker Man
Nicolas Cage is an actor that gives it his all with his distinct performances. Whether it's dramatic work like Leaving Las Vegas or action blockbusters like The Rock, the thespian is known for his immense dedication to the craft regardless of the film's quality. This is best seen in the 2006 remake of The Wicker Man.
Cage plays Edward Malus, a police officer who arrives in Summerisle to find his daughter. Despite the 1973 original being seen as a horror classic, the remake ends up becoming memorable for the wrong reasons from its odd imagery to its unintentional comedic moments.
Though it is unclear whether director Neil LaBute intended the film to go this way, Nicolas Cage gives an exaggerated performance that makes The Wicker Man hard to take seriously which is best seen during the bees scene.
Despite only being in the extended cut, Cage's acting as he is filled with CGI bees has been featured in numerous YouTube videos and has become a meme. His over-the-top screaming and body language are the stuff of legend and turn The Wicker Man into an Internet favorite.
