10 Horror Movies That Almost Had TERRIBLE Titles

7. Tea Time Of The Dead - Shaun Of The Dead

Unfriended Cybernatural
Universal Pictures

The origin story behind the all-time classic zombie rom-com Shaun of the Dead is common knowledge by this point. The story goes that Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg were inspired to create the film after working on a special zombie episode (titled "Art") of their cult-classic TV show Spaced

However, what's less well known is that, when working on the pitch, the film went by the name Tea Time of the Dead. Which, let's be honest, is nowhere near as good as the eventual moniker.

Wright revealed this during an interview with the Empire Film Podcast, where he discussed their early days pitching to Working Title. Back then, the script was just a vague idea, which likely explains the weird-as-hell name that combines British stereotypes with the zombie genre.

Naturally, the Dawn of the Dead pun they eventually settled on helped sell the film's zombie classics homage and quirky comedy. That might not have happened had they stuck with Tea Time.
