10 Horror Movies That Almost Had TERRIBLE Titles

6. Scared Sheetless - Beetlejuice

Unfriended Cybernatural
Warner Bros.

Imagine coming up with a movie title as a joke and then coming dangerously close to being forced to use it. That might seem ridiculous, but it's a reality the incomparable Tim Burton almost found himself in during the making of his all-time classic Beetlejuice.

As discussed in the book Burton on Burton, Warner Bros. wasn't fond of the film's name and considered an alternate for it, that being House Ghosts. This was also an atrocious option, but things got even worse after Burton jokingly suggested the name Scared Sheetless, and, as per the book, the studio legitimately considered it.

This dreadful pun would have given off the wrong impression, making people think the flick was a lazy, phoned-in supernatural comedy. Thankfully, wiser heads prevailed, and the film managed to secure the eponymous villain's name as the title.

If there's at least one thing everyone can agree on, it's that calling the upcoming sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is genius, even though the film will probably still suck.
