10 Horror Movies That Killed EVERY Main Character

8. The Cabin In The Woods

Unfriended Movie
Lionsgate

Is it a piece of twisted, satirical, meta genius? Is it merely overstuffed sh*te that's trying too hard to be clever? That's for you to decide, as The Cabin in the Woods still continues to split opinion ten years after it first surfaced back in 2011.

On an extremely loose level, this Drew Goddard picture involves a group of young adults heading out to your generic cabin in the woods, with it then detailed how said cabin is controlled by a bunch of scientists who drug the group and engineer numerous horror clichés and tropes to play out - all while these lab technicians place bets on who'll survive and what monsters will rear their heads.

From there, it's explained how this is part of a worldwide ritual, for which the US involvement is to sacrifice the five standard slasher movie stereotypes of the virgin, the whore, the jock, the brain, and the jokester.

By the end of The Cabin in the Woods, main protagonist Dana (Kristen Connolly) decides that she doesn't want to play along with this game, and she and Fran Kranz's Marty opt to destroy themselves, the cabin and the rest of the world as they sit back to share one last joint.
