10 Horror Movies That Never Left You
3. Suicide Club
Suicide Club opens with 54 school girls in a subway station inexplicably jumping in front of a train, squishing them flat.
As utterly gruesome as this prologue is, it's crucial, since it lets viewers know what's in store for them. If they can't stomach visuals like this, this is their chance to back out. This is a fair warning since, as hard as it is to believe, Suicide Club rapidly delves into more unsettling territories.
However, it's nearly impossible to stop watching after witnessing this show-stopping opener. As grotesque as this scene is, it piques one's interests with immediate effect.
And when people across the city start taking their lives in a similar fashion, viewers will be inclined to stick through it, to learn what force could possibly compel people to act this way en masse.
Rather than using suicide as a manipulative plot device, the film explores key factors in society, including conformity, individuality, and the pressure which the youth is under. Even though Suicide Club is astoundingly violent, its focuses on more complex elements makes it far more thought-provoking than expected.
