3. All The Alice Clones Get Wiped Out - Resident Evil: Afterlife

Having anything but low expectations for Paul W.S. Anderson's Resident Evil sequels was always foolish, but given that the third film, Extinction, ended by teasing that Alice (Milla Jovovich) would team up with a fleet of her clones to take down Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts), it was tough not to be at least perversely intrigued.

The fourth film, Afterlife, indeed kicked off with Alice and her clones assaulting Umbrella HQ, resulting in an absolutely hilarious assault of wonky VFX, ridiculous physics, and like a dozen versions of Alice kicking all kinds of ass. It's at this point that Anderson's Resident Evil series went full anime.

Sadly this rib-tickling silliness was short-lived, as the opening set-piece concludes with Wesker blowing up the Umbrella facility and, surprise surprise, the ensuing explosion kills all the Alice clones, leaving just the alpha Alice alive.

Considering that the primary appeal - perhaps the sole appeal, even - of this movie was watching a team of Milla Jovoviches - Milla... Jovovi? - slaying undead monsters, to dispense with all that in just 15 minutes was a crushing disappointment.
