10 Horror Movies That Scrapped INSANE Kills

1. The Blood Orgy - Event Horizon

Slender Man
Paramount Pictures

Surely the most infamous scene in Paul W.S. Anderson's Event Horizon is the brief glimpse we get of the so-called "blood orgy" - a video log of the Event Horizon's crew murdering and raping one another after activating the ship's experimental gravity drive.

We only see about 10 seconds of the video log in the final film - after which Captain Miller (Laurence Fishburne) sensibly quips, "We're leaving" - but Anderson shot a whole lengthy sequence which was ultimately cut at the studio's behest.

The elongated blood orgy featured a parade of sexual violence and murder, with amputee performers being hired for the various mutilations, and porn actors for the graphic sexual content.

Some of the many cut kills in the sequence include a crew member being stabbed in the back of the head with a spike, and a woman having her breasts ripped clean off her chest.

Understandably Paramount felt this brutal sexual violence was just too far even for an R-rated sci-fi horror film, and because the original film negatives were left to rot in a Transylvanian salt mine for years, they've since become unusable.
