10 Horror Movies That Scrapped INSANE Kills

2. Chloe Stabs Herself With A Scalpel - Slender Man

Sony's dreadful Slender Man is a textbook example of what happens when a studio loses their nerve over a project and neuters it into scarcely comprehensible gruel before unleashing it upon audiences.

Though nobody was expecting a masterpiece from the creepypasta adaptation, the trailer at least suggested a number of wince-inducing kills, namely high schooler Chloe (Jaz Sinclair) being compelled to stab herself in the face with a scalpel during biology class, spraying blood all over her nearby classmate.

But this and several other death scenes teased in the marketing were ultimately cut from the final film completely, allegedly due to Sony fearing a backlash over the real-life "Slender Man stabbings" that occurred a few years prior.

As a result of Jaz never stabbing herself in the face in the final movie - despite this scene appearing in trimmed-down form - her character is instead abruptly written out of the story, being driven insane by Slender Man and just disappearing without any additional follow-up.

Considering this was really the only truly compelling moment teased in the trailers, denying it to paying customers was a low blow.
