10 Horror Movies That Totally Screwed Characters
4. Alice Harris - 28 Weeks Later
28 Weeks Later takes a refreshingly ruthless approach to the fates of its characters, yet nobody in the film suffers quite as thoroughly as poor Alice Harris (Catherine McCormack).
After being left for dead by her husband Don (Robert Carlyle) at the start of the movie, she unexpectedly shows up alive later on, having survived the opening infected attack due to her immunity to the Rage virus, despite being bitten.
Alice is then taken into quarantine while the higher-ups argue about what to do with her. Soon enough, Don manages to sneak into the lab, after which the two reconcile and kiss, with Alice's saliva infecting Don and quickly causing him to succumb to Rage.
Alice, who is restrained in the quarantine lab, can only look on in horror as Don mutates, before he punches her in the face, rips out her throat with his teeth, and finally gouges out her eyes with his thumbs.
The grand irony, of course, is that Alice's immunity ultimately led to her suffering such a brutal demise. Talk about unfair.
