10 Horror Movies That Will Make You Glad You're Single
4. Honeymoon (2014)
Ah, the honeymoon. It's the part of marriage that many people look forward to the most. You get the chance to be with your partner, sip tasty drinks, get a break from life, and celebrate your future. Naturally, that positivity is something this horror movie looked at and said, "hmm, I bet I can make that scary as hell!".
In Honeymoon, you watch as a recently wedded couple venture off to a remote cabin in a Canadian forest. Things are fun at first, but a series of strange events turn the trip into a nightmare, as Bea (played by Rose Leslie) begins to act aloof and mysterious.
There are some rather fascinating forces at play here (which shall remain unspoiled), and they're explored in a grittier and more disturbing way than the direction cinema often takes them in. But, the terrifying highlight of the film is the deteriorating state of Bea and its impact on the newlyweds.
The tension and horror from seeing her turn into something dark and twisted, all infused with a constant sense of paranoia, has you on the edge of your seat. This is not how the early days of marriage are supposed to go.
