10 Horror Movies That Will Make You Never Sleep Again

7. Dementia (2015)

Dementia is pretty much just The Father if The Father was on a bad drug trip and also Imogen Poots was evil. It starts off with the obvious horrors in the concepts of memory-loss and the tragic abuse of elderly people by those who are meant to care for them; however Dementia also introduces the terrifying idea that you can’t trust yourself.

The film centres around Vietnam veteran George, who suffers a stroke and is consequently diagnosed with dementia. To help with his care and keep him semi-independent, his family employs a live-in carer. This, it turns out, may have been a big mistake.

His nurse gets a little bit too happy to shoot him up with tranquilisers, which becomes even more unnerving when he finds himself waking up to things he doesn’t remember doing. Any scenario in which one wakes up covered in blood surely can’t be a good one.
