10 Horror Movies That Will Put You Off Travelling After Watching

2. Superhost

Superhost Barbara Crampton
Shudder

Considering how Superhost is a film that's only just landed on Shudder, there'll be no veering towards spoiler territory here - bar to say that the picture is absolutely worth checking out and that Gracie Gillam puts in one of the best horror performances of the year as Rebecca.

From writer/director Brandon Christensen, Superhost centres on Claire (Sara Canning) and Teddy (Osric Chau), two lovers who spend their time vlogging about vacation spots, rental houses, motels and the like.

Constantly desperate to make sure you like and subscribe to their online content, these lovebirds manage to land a slot at a popular luxury house in the middle of nowhere. The couple's plan is to showcase the house, explore the local area, and make light 'n' breezy content that will help their sagging YouTube numbers.

Where Rebecca comes into this, is she's the owner of said abode, and her erratic, entertaining ways start to reveal that there's a little more to Gracie Gillam's character than you first think.

Again, that's as far as it's fair to go in terms of plot so soon after Superhost's release - it only hit Shudder on 31 August - but Christensen's picture is one that will make you think twice about the next holiday home you look at.
