3. Wolf Creek

People are only half-joking when they say Australia is full of things designed to kill you, with the island home to numerous deadly predators that range from snakes, to sharks, to spiders, to crocodiles, to birds, to bugs and more.

Out of all of those creatures, though, there is likely no animal that's quite as deadly as Mick Taylor of the Wolf Creek franchise.

Not only is John Jarratt's Mick dangerous, but he outright despises any and all tourists and travellers.

Sure, Mick is a racist, homophobic, generally xenophobic d**khead, but being aware of how awful a human being he is won't stop any would-be victims from escaping his clutches. Mick is nothing if not persistent, and it's rare that he ever lets a target get away - and for some of those unfortunate victims, it's even alluded to that Taylor has a literal taste for human flesh.

Worryingly, the events of Wolf Creek and the character of Mick Taylor pulled inspiration from similar real-life events, with serial killer Ivan Milat and tourist murderer Bradley John Murdoch two particular individuals who writer/director Greg McLean has cited as an influence on his 2005 picture.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics.
