10 Horror Movies That Would Have Made Better TV Shows
3. Vacancy
Vacancy follows a struggling couple who are forced to stay at a motel after their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. After looking at a video tape in their bedroom, they learn the owners of the establishment are recording the guests being murdered so they can sell the footage on a snuff film website.
Even though Vacancy's premise is intriguing, the film itself is a bit rushed. With a run time of only 85 films, the plot escalates too quickly. If we got to know the characters better, we would care for them more when they are put in mortal danger.
As a television series, the premise could be more expansive. Instead of a crummy motel, it could be a luxurious lodge. Instead of housing a single couple, there could be dozens, even hundreds of guests. As the main characters realise several guests have gone missing, we could see them putting two and two together and try to convince others to get out of there.
There are so many avenues the story could go, it's a shame to limit Vacancy's premise to one single movie.
