10 Horror Movies Too Scary To Finish Watching

7. Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988)

"We have such sights to show you."

Oh, god, no. Thanks, but no thanks; no one wants to see your terrifying sights, please!

Hellraiser is one of the biggest contenders for the crown of "most iconic horror franchise of all time". If there were a Mount Rushmore for horror icons, you'd likely see a horde of people vying for Pinhead to get carved into that mountainside. If there's one thing that truly justifies this reputation, it's that Hellraiser is (appropriately) scary as all hell.

The first instalment in the franchise is, no doubt, a balls-to-the-wall freaky experience, but the seminal sequel is a pure, unadulterated cocktail of frights, many of which are so intense you'll struggle to make it through. It follows on from the original, as Kirsty contends with an occult fanatic doctor, the recently arisen Julia and a literal journey into Hell.

Clive Barker's legendary body horror is on full display here. You get to see a horrific skinless woman murdering people, terrifying Cenobite designs and the uncanny setting of a painted background Hell.

It might not be the best Hellraiser movie, but it is certainly in the running for scariest.
