10 Horror Movies Too Scary To Finish Watching

6. Barbarian (2022)

Black Sabbath
20th Century Studios

This is probably not the first time you've heard of Barbarian, and if it is, you'd better get used to it because this movie will get talked about a lot more in the coming months. The most shocking thing about it is that it 100% deserves the attention it is getting.

Barbarian follows a woman (Tess) as she checks into an Airbnb only to find that it has been double booked. But, the awkwardness of sharing a space with a complete stranger becomes the least of her concerns as the terrifying secrets of the house soon confront her.

The film manages to be scary on multiple levels, with one of the most prevalent being how it taps into the zeitgeist of home rentals. It makes you think about the risks of moving into someone's home and how unsafe the concept truly is.

However, while the reality of the situation is sure to cause unease, it's the pure unpredictability of the plot that really cooks up some nightmare food. This is a film you want to go into as blind as possible because if you do, the scares are on another level.
