10 Horror Movies & TV Shows You Can No Longer Watch

1. Nightmare Classics

The Night Flier
Showtime

While the vast majority of your favourite horror TV shows are at least available on streaming, there's one startling exception that isn't even on DVD, much to its fans' continued frustration.

Nightmare Classics was a four-episode horror anthology series produced by actress Shelley Duvall (The Shining) and aired on Showtime in late 1989.

Each of the four stories was adapted from a classic horror tale, such as Henry James' The Turn of the Screw and Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, with cast members including the likes of Ione Skye, Roddy McDowall, Laura Dern, and C. Thomas Howell.

Though the series was released on VHS in 1990, it never made it to DVD, with difficulties relating to the show's rights most often cited as the reason why.

Given the popularity of horror anthology series on streaming, it'd be a fantastic blast from the past to see it show up eventually. Though if the thorny rights issues are still deemed more trouble than they're worth, fans may have to settle for the pixelated VHS rips on YouTube.
