10 Horror Movies Where An Actor Plays Multiple Characters
8. Winona Ryder - Bram Stoker's Dracula
The story of Dracula is a horrifying tale about blood-sucking monsters of the night. But, it's also the story of eternal love and reincarnation (aww). That's why this dual performance is as important as it is, even if one of the two roles is dead before the end of the prologue.
Bram Stoker's Dracula is considered one of the best depictions of the classic villain ever put to screen, and a big part of that is the solid ensemble cast. The performances from Gary Oldman, Anthony Hopkins, not Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder helped bring this classic gothic tale to life, and Ryder worked double time.
The Stranger Things star took on the roles of Mina Murray (the fiancé to Reeves' Johnathan Harker) and Elisabeta (Dracula's deceased wife). Elisabeta appeared briefly in the film's intro and tragically took her life, which became the catalyst for Dracula becoming a vampire in the first place.
Later, Mina appeared, and it was clear from Dracula's love for her and Winona's presence that she was a reincarnation of the titular character's beloved spouse. This turned the horror flick into a twisted sort of immortal love story, following these two unfortunate lovers, reunited after decades.
