When trying to create a horror movie about a bunch of strangers, most flicks take the wise approach of going for a smaller cast so that each character can be adequately explored. But, 2015's Circle looked at those puny numbers and said, "hold my beer!", boasting an impressive cast of 50 strangers. Now, that's a party!

The movie follows a collection of people from all walks of life as they awake in a bizarre, sci-fi-looking room. They soon discover that one of them is killed every two minutes, with anyone who tries to leave facing the same fate. They can also vote for who dies next, meaning divisions and factions soon arise based on personal beliefs and prejudices.

It's wild how this film is so simple yet so grandiose in its design. While the whole thing only takes place in one room, it's so well designed that you won't ever grow bored of it. The stark contrast of the red colours against the darkened floor/walls makes it a visual treat.

Circle is also a thrilling watch, thanks to the horrors of mob mentality. The whole thing feels like a shockingly realistic depiction of how this nightmarish scenario would play out in real life. Plus, the clever use of unknown actors makes you genuinely unsure who will make it out alive.
