10 Horror Movies Where You Don't See The Monster Until The End

2. Malignant

The Woman
Warner Bros. Pictures

You know that bit in the first Harry Potter where its revealed that Voldemort is living in the back of Quirrell's head? Well, this is that, but somehow even worse.

In 2019's Malignant, a woman named Madison had the most incredible backstory of all time.

Adopted at a young age, Madison - real name Emily - was born with a parasitic twin coming out of her back. Though most of the twin was removed, its brain still exists within Madison, manifesting as her murderous alter ego, Gabriel.

Gabriel's existence and true form are revealed towards the end of Malignant; he is a half-formed face poking out of the back of Madison's head, who can control her by piloting her body around backwards. That sounds funny, but it's less amusing when he's coming at you with a knife.

As Madison is being harassed by a group of prisoners, she snaps, allowing her brother to force his way in. She rips the skin off the back of her skull, letting Gabriel breathe and take full control.

Thank God this reveal came towards the end of the film; there's no way performer Marina Mazepa could have walked backwards for the whole movie.
