10 Horror Movies With The Worst Monster Reveal

4. The Werewolf - Cursed

Hair is among the hardest materials to render with CGI. So, since werewolves are composed of a bajillion follicles, they are an absolute nightmare to create digitally.

The filmmakers behind Cursed were aware of this, which is why they hired Rick Baker to design the wolf-beast. Since Baker co-ordinated the transformation scene in An American Werewolf in London, he was the perfect guy for the job.

Sadly, the producers fired Baker, opting to bring the movie's villain to life digitally. Although the werewolf in Cursed never looks convincing, it looks exceptionally awful when Joanie turns into the supernatural beast. Rather than editing the sequence in a way to hide the appalling effects, Joanie's transformation is shown in a minute-long unbroken shot, which highlights every visual imperfection. The graphics are so rudimentary, you'd swear you were looking at a cutscene from a PlayStation game. What's worse is this scene takes place in front of a mirror, meaning we see Joanie's crappy metamorphosis from TWO different angles!

Even though this scene was meant to be the standout moment, you just cringe from embarrassment, and wait for it to end.
