To make a monster reveal as effective as possible, some films will ensure the creature's appearance is kept secret from the public.

However, the studio behind The Giant Claw took this practice to a whole new level. Although the poster showed the titular beast's body, its face was obscured. According to the lead actor, Jeff Morrow, none of the cast knew what the monster looked like until the premier.

Although The Giant Claw is a cheesy B-movie, it builds up its monstrous star quite well, constantly reminding us of its towering size and power.

But when you finally see the behemoth, you realise why it remained hidden on the posters. The filmmakers weren't trying to build up anticipation - they were hiding the creature because they were ashamed how stupid it looked!

Instead of looking like a traditional monster, The Giant Claw resembles a mohawk-sporting turkey. What makes it funnier is how the human characters become paralysed with fear every time this cross-eyed marionette appears.

It's been reported that the premier was a disaster, since the audience laughed hysterically every time The Giant Claw was onscreen. Jeff Morrow was so embarrassed by the crowd's reaction, he snuck out of the theatre before the movie was over.
