We’ve all had horrid teachers, and who could forget Miss Trunchbull making the teaching profession seem like a hellscape where demons are created and nurtured? However, Michel of Les Diaboliques might be the worst of the bunch. He’s vile to his students and abuses both his wife and mistress.

The two women who suffer by his hand decide to do something about him – and by that, I mean they decide to kill him. They attempt to drown him in the school swimming pool, but his corpse vanishes. This worsens his wife Christina’s heart condition and she becomes more and more sickly as it seems her husband’s ghost is haunting her.

The audience knows something isn’t quite right, but nobody was prepared for the killer twist.

It’s revealed that the mistress, Nicola (who we all assumed was Christina’s friend and confidant) was actually in cahoots with Michel the whole time! Christina was the intended victim all along, and with one final terrifying scare, Michel gives his wife a fatal heart attack.

Whilst we may have figured things weren’t all that they seemed, this crazy plot twist was as shocking as it was strange.
