10 Horror Movies You Didn't Know Got Cancelled
8. You're Next 2
Adam Wingard's You're Next was a terrifically entertaining horror flick, and though it was perfectly fine as a tight little "one and done" movie, there were naturally many keen to see a sequel, especially given the popularity of Sharni Vinson's badass protagonist Erin.
Though there have been periodic whispers about You're Next 2 since the original's release in 2013, with many fans hoping it might happen sooner or later, Wingard and writer Simon Barrett put the kibosh on this for good earlier this year when discussing the proposed sequel idea they ended up not making.
On their commentary track for the new 4K Blu-ray of You're Next, they revealed that the plan was for You're Next 2 to follow up with Erin, who is arrested and blamed for all the bloodshed in the first film.
While being transported in a prison van with other prisoners, the van would be attacked by a returning Lamb Mask (L.C. Holt), and so the prisoners - all of whom are chained together - would have to co-operate in order to survive.
Barrett added that he's "glad" they didn't make the sequel, and that it would "just make you like this film less."
Wingard did half-joke, however, that if their careers nosedived they could return to it, even if it'd probably be something very different now that they've put this idea out into the universe.
