4. Insidious x Sinister

In January 2018, while promoting Insidious: The Last Key, Jason Blum revealed that attempts had previously been made to develop a crossover between the Insidious and Sinister horror franchises. Though that initial round of development bore no fruit, Blum was hopeful that this mash-up would eventually happen, adding that they were going to continue workshopping the idea to see if they could figure it out.

Given the popularity of both the Insidious and Sinister franchises, and how much horror fans love a crossover, this one feels like a no-brainer on paper, especially as their shared supernatural element would make it relatively easy to co-mingle their respective worlds. However, when promoting Insidious: The Red Door in 2023, Blum seemed a bit less optimistic, adding that they "never had a great idea" for the crossover, even if he'd still like to see it happen.

With the Insidious franchise beginning to wind down now, and Sinister having been dormant for an entire decade, it seems evident that the ship on this one has firmly sailed.
