10 Horror Remakes Coming In 2019
4. Hellboy
The Hellboy remake has been pretty up and down since its announcement 2017, offering up good and bad with each step closer we get to the impending release date. Now we're finally in the year that David Harbour's take on the Dark Horse comic character comes to life, but how exactly do we feel about it?
With Guillermo Del Toro's cult classics not too far behind us, and the reminder that this reboot comes instead of Del Toro's wish to complete his trilogy of Hellboy films, an uneasy feeling seems to surround the project as to whether it's completely right or not - but with some banging initial posters and a particularly strong design for the horny devil himself, that was quickly washed away.
But then a trailer was released that seemed to offer up comedy in the place of R-Rated violence from the spawn of hell, blurring what was essentially a darker, more adult take on the source material with an unexpectedly light tone. Love it or hate it, it's coming - but just exactly what 'it' is is still a mystery. Still, there's faith The Descent's Neil Marshall yet.
