The rallying cry of Avengers assemble has already become an icon in the MCU; Cap nearly uttered it at the end of Age Of Ultron, while the first Avengers movie actually used the term as its official title in the UK. With this in mind, it feels likely that Brian Michael Bendis 2004-2005 crossover event Avengers Disassembled could inspire a big crossover movie a little ways down the road. The story of Avengers Disassembled began with thought-dead superhero Jack Of Hearts turning up unannounced at Avengers mansion. He blew up, killing Scott Langs Ant-Man in the process. Other heroes began behaving badly, too, with The Vision crashing a Quinjet into the mansion while unleashing some Ultron robots, She-Hulk utterly losing it, and Tony Stark threatening foreign politicians. Aliens invaded at the exact same time, and Hawkeye sacrificed his life to defeat them. It soon became apparent that Scarlet Witch was behind these events, and that she had gradually been going insane ever since her children (who were actually magical constructions she had made herself) had died. Doctor Strange eventually managed to stop her mental manipulations, but the damage was already done. Tony Starks behaviour and the damage caused by the malfunctioning Avengers had drastically effected stocks in Stark Industries. Tony didnt have the money to support the team anymore, so Earths Mightiest Heroes disbanded. But would Marvel Studios have the guts to break up the team in the movies? Only time will tell.
