10 Huge Crossover Events For Marvel’s Phase 4

5. Dark Reign/Siege

Another thing that Marvel Studios€™ new Spidey-sharing deal with Sony means is that the wall-crawler€™s impressive rogues€™ galley can now appear in MCU movies. This points towards one huge crossover possibility €“ the Dark Reign storyline, which saw Norman Osborn rise to power, become the USA€™s primary defence officer and turn S.H.I.E.L.D. into his own nefarious organisation H.A.M.M.E.R. This all came about as the result of the Secret Invasion storyline (more on that later), which concluded with Osborn assisting the government in halting an alien invasion. Once in power, Osborn showed willingness to destroy any threats to his new hero status, commanded a team of evil Avengers, and even suited up himself as the Iron Patriot. This reign of tyranny lead to the Siege storyline, where Loki manipulated Osborn into attacking Asgard, which at this time was located on Earth (which could also happen in the MCU as a result of Thor: Ragnarok). This was one step too far, and Captain America led a team of goodie Avengers to try and stop him. A big, bloody battle was had. By the time that Phase 4 comes around, this could be a very interesting way to shake up the MCU. You can imagine Osborn€™s reign effecting Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and all the Earthly film franchises until a big crossover movie is needed to bring him down. They€™d need to do Secret Invasion first, though, and it'd probably help to introduce Osborn in 2017's Spider-Man movie.
