10 HUGE MCU Phase Four Fan Theories That Could Come True
2. Gorr The God Butcher's Necrosword
There is a long list of powerful weapons throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and with each passing year it seems that there are newer and more powerful weapons introduced. From Mjolnir and Cap’s shield, to Stormbreaker and the Ten Rings, there is a lot of power in the MCU.
With Thor: Love and Thunder, this list will grow thanks to Gorr the God Butcher and his Necrosword. In the comics this is All-Black, a powerful sword that gifts him powers and abilities he never dreamed of before killing his first god, and it has a connection to the symbiotes of the world. In the MCU, its origin could be very different.
There has already been another Necrosword that has been in the MCU, namely in the possession of Thor’s last solo villain, Hela. She was defeated at the end of Ragnarok by Surtur’s rampage on Asgard, but her corpse was never seen. It could be that she wasn’t actually killed by Surtur, as she was at her strongest on her homeworld. With Asgard now gone however, Hela could be incredibly weakened and may have wound up on Gorr's planet.
While the villain in the comics stumbled upon two gods locked in their own fight, his MCU origin could see him come across a weakened Hela. Enraged at the proof of the existence of gods, he could kill her and take her necrosword for himself.
