10 Huge Movie Returns Nobody Ever Expected (THAT ARE FINALLY HAPPENING!)
2023 has been the year of unbelievable movie returns!
The term "never say never" certainly applies to the barmy world of show business.
Even when an actor claims they will never EVER return to one of their most beloved film roles, there's still a decent enough chance that the right story or director - or a boatload of money - will be able to convince them to come back for one last big-screen dance.
And the fact we're currently living in the age of the legacy sequel has also opened the door for more shocking movie returns than ever before.
However, it has to be said that if you told the average person in early 2022 that even a handful of the following movie character comebacks were going to become a reality over the next 12-months, they still probably would have laughed right in your hopeful little face.
But against all the odds, some of the stars who seemed destined to never again set foot in certain franchises or dust off specific pieces of an iconic costume again for various reasons are very much returning to the action in the coming years.
Mutant icons. Forgotten MCU Phase One stars. Mountains of charismatic muscle. They are all incredibly making the most unlikeliest of comebacks in the not too distant future!
10. Hugh Jackman As Wolverine - Deadpool 3
After an absolutely perfect and hugely emotional send-off in James Mangold's Logan, Hugh Jackman seemed very much happy to wave goodbye to his time as the X-Men's legendary anti-hero.
He'd put in a hell of shift since debuting as Logan/Wolverine in that first 2000 entry. And after playing the character on a whopping nine different occasions over the subsequent 17-years, it looked like it was finally time to pass the adamantium claws to another actor.
But in one of the biggest casting shocks of recent times, Ryan Reynolds' years of pestering his pal to unleash his inner Wolverine one more time finally paid off in September 2022.
Not only that, Jackman will be reprising his most famous role in a damn Deadpool movie opposite Reynolds' 'Merc with a Mouth', with the third entry in the franchise also seemingly set to bring back a number of other famous Marvel faces (but more on that later!).
And if that already wasn't enough of a reason to get excited about Deadpool's first-ever appearance as part of the MCU, the first images (via Deadline) of Jackman and Reynolds wandering around a set together have also revealed the return of Wolvie's iconic yellow suit.
What a time to be alive!
