10 Huge Movies Already Confirmed For 2020 And Beyond

5. Dungeons & Dragons

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3
Arnie Skewel, Manual of the Planes/Wizards of the Coast

Release Date: 23 July 2021

A new Dungeons & Dragons movie has been gestating for quite some time, with Warner Bros announcing that they were developing an adaptation of the beloved tabletop game back in 2015.

That version would've starred Baby Driver's Ansel Elgort and been helmed by Goosebumps' Rob Letterman, but in the years since, Dungeons & Dragons has shifted to Paramount, who are developing the project from scratch.

In December last year the studio set a prime summer release date for the movie, which gives you some idea of the direction they're going to take it in: big-budget, flashy, and as broadly-appealing as possible. Think what they did with their Transformers movies, only it'll be a fantasy - and hopefully not as dumb.

This isn't the first time Dungeons & Dragons has graced the big-screen; Jeremy Irons starred in a panned adaptation in 2000, which spawned two direct-to-DVD sequels. Here's hoping this new version doesn't end up that way.
