10 Huge Recent Movie Moments That Fell Totally Flat
3. Lockwood Is The "Secret" Villain - Bad Boys: Ride or Die
The fourth Bad Boys movie is centered around a secret villain who has framed the late Captain Howard (Joe Pantoliano) for allegedly having corrupt links to drug cartels, in turn besmirching his legacy.
Except, the identity of said traitor is hilariously obvious to anyone with a functioning pair of eyes or ears, because when you cast Ioan Gruffud in your film, it's almost always because he's playing a huge a**hole.
Gruffud appears in the film as Adam Lockwood, a mayoral candidate and new boyfriend of Miami PD captain Rita Secada (Paola Núñez), who is clearly too well-known an actor to simply be playing a generic love interest.
The moment he shows up, he may as well be accompanied by a neon signpost reading, "THE REAL BAD GUY!," and duly, he's eventually revealed to be the mole working with the film's other main antagonist, James McGrath (Eric Dane).
It's so obvious that Lockwood's the villain you might even think you're being deliberately misled and, in fact, Gruffud will actually get to play an unproblematic nice guy for once. But alas, no.
