10 Hyped 2019 Movies That Disappointed Everyone

9. Hellboy

Similarly to Rambo, Hellboy was last seen on the big screen over ten years ago in 2008. While the iteration of the character from the Golden Army was Ron Perlman's final portrayal, Neil Marshall's take on the story featured David Harbour in the titular role.

Incredibly popular as Hopper in Stranger Things, Harbour's involvement gained the project even more publicity and excitement. Seemingly a much darker, grittier take on the character, many thought the reboot would at least in some way make up for the absence of a third Guillermo del Toro movie.

Fans who went into the cinemas thinking this however, were wildly let down. Neil Marshall's movie was reportedly meddled with at just about every stage of production, and was hurt by differences between the director, producers, and Harbour on set. Clearly, this all took a toll on the final product.

2019's Hellboy can't quite decide which direction it wants to go in, and though it has a seemingly reasonable run time of two hours, it is a real effort to get through to the end. Safe to say there will be no sequels to speak of for this version of the character.
