10 Hyped Movie Characters (That Did Absolutely Nothing)

4. Most Of The Ensemble - Suicide Squad

Adam Warlock Guardians of the Galaxy

David Ayer's Suicide Squad was panned for a myriad of reasons, especially with how badly it handled Jared Leto's Joker. The tattooed jester was plastered in all of the movie's promotions, giving the impression he would play a major role, instead of a glorified cameo.

This gripe is brought up with such regularity, it's easy to forget the Joker isn't the only one done dirty in Suicide Squad. In fact, everyone in the titular squad is wasted, save for Deadshot and Harley Quinn.

Katana was set up to be a badass, and yet, she had no effect on the plot. Captain Boomerang only throws two boomerangs in the entire film (and one of them misses its target). All Killer Croc does is climb down a flooded sewer. Slipknot dies almost immediately after he's introduced. (Why did he feature in the posters and commercials?)

Although El Diablo, Enchantress, and Rick Flag serve as the emotional centre, it's hard to follow their story arcs, since most of their scenes were cut.

To top it all off, the main villain is so mundane, most viewers can't remember what he looks like, his motivation, or his name. It's Incubus, in case you were wondering.

Juggling a large ensemble is never easy, but few movies have bungled their ensemble more than this mess.
