10 Hyped Movie Characters (That Did Absolutely Nothing)

3. Adam Warlock - Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

Expectations were suitably astronomical for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, since it would close the Guardians trilogy and serve as James Gunn's swan song under Marvel. Fans were also eager to see the live-action debut of several iconic comic book characters, most notably Adam Warlock (Will Poulter).

Because of Infinity War, Endgame, and James Gunn's temporary firing, fans had to wait a whopping six years for Vol. 3's release.

In a way, this was a blessing in disguise, since it gave Gunn more time to implement Warlock into the story more efficiently. Because Gunn intended for Warlock to appear in the last instalment, it seemed the director had big plans for the cosmic deliverer.

To everyone's surprise, Warlock only had ten minutes of screen-time in this 150-minute threequel. What's worse is Warlock appears in the opening sequence, giving the illusion he would play a bigger role.

Until his character reappears, it's easy to forget the golden gladiator is supposed to be a pivotal character. Although he saves Star-Lord in the climax, it feels like this scene was inserted to give Warlock something to do. (Why else would Star-Lord not have his mask and jet boots while hurling through space?)
