10 Iconic Batman Moments We Still Haven't Seen On Film

2. Joker's Tunnel Of Love Rampage - Dark Knight Returns

Frank Miller single-handedly redefined Batman in the eighties with this and of course with his legendary retelling of the origin in Year One. After defeating the Mutant leader and returning to form as The Dark Knight, The Joker - previously catatonic in Arkham after the disappearance of his most beloved foe - reawakens and resumes his anarchic mission to die at the hands of The Bat.

With brilliance, Miller examines the idea that neither Batman or The Joker can exist without each other, just as order cannot exist without chaos to define it. After pursuing the Joker into Gotham Fair, The Joker flees into The Tunnel of love, shooting complete strangers as he goes, laughing maniacally of course , a chilling spree of murder that reminds us that this sh*t is most definitely not for children, nor adults with a feint heart.

After catching him, Bats breaks Joker's neck in order to paralyze him and what follows is a brutal few panels that will go through you every time you see 'em.
