4. Avengers Vs X-Men (Marvel)

Avengers Vs X-Men was by no means great, but it was certainly a massive storyline when it was published in 2012. The story revolves around the coming to Earth of the Phoenix Force. It is deduced that it is coming for X-Men member Hope Summers and, when Captain America insists that the X-Men hand her over to the Avengers so they can place her in protective custody, Cyclops tells him that isn't going to happen, orders him to leave and a conflict breaks out, which eventually goes global. There is a very obvious reason why this can't currently happen - and that's because the Avengers and the X-Men belong to different movie studios and currently star in different franchises. Despite the fact that the comic book arc of this title wasn't received too well, there's no doubt that a movie would go down an absolute storm. Chris Evans' Captain America fighting Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, Chris Hemsworth's Thor against Michael Fassbender's Magneto and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow duking it out with Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique, for example, would be awesome - and that make it a shame that it's not possible.
