10 Iconic Movie Costumes Actors Hated Wearing
4. Kevin Peter Hall – The Predator
The late Kevin Peter Hall is best known for portraying the iconic Jungle Hunter in the first two entries in the Predator series. Hall famously replaced the then-unknown Jean-Claude Van Damme. However, Van Damme may have had a lucky escape.
Though the actor was 7ft 2.5in tall, he still required a rig to be able to move convincingly in the suit which weighed 200lbs. The heaviness of the suit was, in part, due to the requirement for a cooling system, which circulated cold water in an effort to keep Hall cool while shooting in the Mexican jungle.
Despite these precautions, Hall was still only able to wear the suit approximately two hours before he would risk overheating. The suit made for a taxing experience for Hall, which wasn't helped by the moisture from his sweat and jungle lakes being absorbed by the suit.
Though the suit was was left under the flurry of a dehumidifier overnight between filming days, we can't imagine that it did much for the stench.
Hall was likely very thankful when he exchanged the Jungle Hunter suit to play the titular Big Foot in Harry and the Hendersons.
