10 Iconic Movie Heroes Who Saved The Day By Complete Accident

4. Luke Skywalker - Return Of The Jedi I used to pretend to be Luke Skywalker when I was a kid. Hell, I even claimed to be named after him. (not true, by the way) It wasn't until I got older that I realized Darth Vader was the actual hero of Star Wars. He was always the villain. Evil. I hated him. When he announced to Luke and us that, "I am your father," I cried and screamed right along with Luke. "Noooo, that's impossible!" And now, I'm older (and less screamy) and wiser. I've got a better handle on this world we live in and Damnit, Vader was the hero in the end. Sure, Luke saved the day in episode 4, and nobody saved shit in episode 5 but how does Luke get credit for Jedi? By the way, Han Solo saved the day in episode 4, if he hadn't shown up, Vader would have killed Luke and the rebels would have been destroyed. Thanks for playing, grab a gift bag on your way out the door. In Jedi, Luke kicks some ass early but then skips out on his friends, and the majority of the battle. He instead, tries to get a handle on his daddy issues. He goes to the new Death Star, engages in some more fisticuffs with dear old dad and then gets his ass handed to him by the Emperor. Vader, watching his son die, finally snaps out of his decades long dark mood and kills the Emperor. This saves his son, martyrs himself and Lando blows up the Death Star. Game over, Luke gets the credit.

I'm married and live in New York with my wife and pets. I'm a writer and definitely not a comedian (just ask my wife). I've successfully linked my twitter, goodreads, facebook and google+ pages although the successful aspect of all that is up for debate. I also started my own blog on wordpress and have just finished my first novel, The Violent Winds. Now it's time to try and trick some unsuspecting fool into buying it.
