10 Iconic Scenes That Completely Overshadow Their Movies

7. King Kong €“ Monkey, Meet Dinosaur

kingkiobg1The Scene: Whilst chasing Ann Darrow, King Kong stumbles across a couple of tyrannosauruses keen to rip her limb from limb in a less cute way then Kong intends, therefore the monkey-dinosaur fight we€™ve all been waiting for kicks off with jaws being broken, tongues being ripped out and a shocking display of a thin blonde woman€™s upper body strength. Why It Overshadows The Movie: When you compare it to the other dinosaur scene in this overlong slog of a movie, this could be considered as the greatest scene ever. It€™s not quite that but it is a stunning action set piece in a movie very bereft of excitement, compelling things and pretty much anything that matches the quality of this scene. This is one of the rare examples of where a modern reboot has enhanced the original. Using modern special effects to bring some majesty to Kong this scene is the best example of a director taking his film to another level, right before he took it back to the mediocrity of the other 3 hours.
