10 Iconic Star Wars Things That Only Came After A New Hope

As previously mentioned Darth Vader is arguably one of cinema's most iconic characters, however, the scale of the original film is considerably smaller than future instalments, and has a much tighter cast.

The Empire Strikes Back introduces two iconic characters to the series, Master Yoda and Lando. Yoda's scenes with Luke on Dagobah are some of the greatest in the entire franchise. The 900 year old puppet is one of the most memorable characters in the Star Wars galaxy.

Also, the most recent trilogy sees a new band of three become icons: Rey, Finn and Poe. A new generation of heroes for a new generation of fans. They may have qualities that conform to the series' stereotypes, and the sequels may be disliked by some, but nonetheless, they are the iconic heroes of the Resistance.

But the characters don't need to be someone huge to be iconic. Every character in the Star Wars galaxy has a backstory and are fleshed out, and a lot of fan-favourites didn't come until after the first film.
