10 Improvised Movie Moments That Made The Film Much Better

5. The Hannibal Hiss

Mads Mikkelsen is bringing the gentleman cannibal to a whole new audience with the NBC TV series and Brian Cox actually originated the character on screen in 1986's Manhunter, but still. When you say the name Hannibal, the image most are gonna come up with is Anthony Hopkins. The masterful Welsh actor made his first appearance as the character from Robert Harris's series of novels in the Oscar-winning The Silence Of The Lambs, before fleshing him out a little more in the entirely more campy Hannibal and then Red Dragon happened, much as everyone wish it didn't. Amongst the many character traits and quirks Hopkins brought to Hannibal, none has been more influential or imitated than that weird little hiss he does. With the bottom lip between the teeth, all the better for making your story about eating a liver even creepier.
