10 Incredible Movies With Just ONE Awful Scene
3. Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade - Temple Of The Grail
With white-knuckle action sequences, a great script and a brilliant double-act of Harrison Ford and Sean Connery, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is an incredible work of blockbuster cinema, but it is the worst (Temple of Doom is a stone-cold masterpiece, sorry) of the Indiana Jones Trilogy. Why? This terrible ending.
While the previous two films had amazing finales, in this one Indiana Jones goes through three ridiculously brief booby traps before encountering a knight who has been kept alive for hundreds of years by the grail. What follows is a fairly uninteresting test in which Indy and the film’s main villain have to determine which out of the many cups in the chamber is the right grail. Indy chooses correctly, the villain doesn’t.
After the rip-roaring thrills of the rest of the movie, this has always felt like quite an anticlimactic finale and the character of the Grail Knight, even in a franchise not exactly known for realism, was just a bit too ridiculous.
