10 Incredible Movies With ONE Unnecessary Scene
3. What Kind Of Ending Was That? - Kingsman: The Secret Service
While most modern action flicks try to be dark and gritty, Matthew Vaughn went in the opposite direction while adapting Mark Miller's comic series, Kingsman, to the big-screen.
By embracing the campiness of the old-school James Bond films and dialling up the action to 11, it felt like this spy thriller couldn't have come out at a better time. It was filled with colourful imagery, creative violence, scene-chewing villains, mesmerising action sequences, and more exploding heads than you would believe.
Even though Kingsman doesn't tone down the gore or crude humour, it goes too far in the final moments.
While in Valentine's fortress, our hero, Eggsy, locates a princess called Tilde who has been sealed in a cell. She tells Eggsy that if she frees him, she will let him... do the deed to her.
When Eggsy defeats Valentine's lead henchwoman, he triumphantly heads to Tilde's cell with two glasses of champagne. Although this is the perfect moment for the movie to end, the camera zooms in on the princess's bare backside before cutting to black.
Despite the fact the director has tried defending this scene by claiming "it's empowering", it's pretty tasteless to end any movie with an anal joke.
