1. Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars
Every major Marvel super hero and super villain fights one another. Need I say more? OK, I will. So, heres the premise. The Beyonder, an all-powerful being introduced for the crossover mini-series, observes these super powered beings on little ol Earth and decides to ship them to a planet he creates out of thin air (or thin space) to force them to battle to the death. The prize? Anything they want. Whether the boy scouts from the heroes would object is never in question, because the villains waste no time in attacking to get the prize. What follows is basically every battle sequence you ever enacted with your action figures as a kid which explains the somewhat seedy origination of the idea from Mattel. You get the Thing and Hulk taking turns lifting a mountain up after the villains drop it on the heroes. You get Dr. Doom showing how badass he is by deciding to just go after The Beyonder instead. And did I mention every action figure battle you had as a kid? There are subtle B-stories too, like Magneto being placed in the heroes category and being immediately rejected by the heroes despite his willingness to help. Spider-Man finds mysterious black goo that forms a new black costume, the origin of Venom. And there are the too-be-expected power struggles that come from packing a bunch of type-A personalities into armies together. The amazing thing is Secret Wars wouldnt take much build-up. All of the heroes have been introduced, and most of the villains that matter have been featured as their nemesis (the B-list villains could be removed or quickly explained). Just slap a Beyonder teaser onto the end of Avengers 2. So where are you on this Marvel? Were waiting. Didnt see a superhero crossover mentioned that youd like to see in a movie?
