2. Kingdom Come

Kingdom Come is a mini-series set in a possible future, though its impact on fans has meant the storyline and characters have popped up in regular continuum, thus cementing itself as close enough to canon as comics get these days. The premise is that in the future the semi-retired superheroes we know have gotten old, and the young upstarts (some of them descendants) have generally made a mess of things. These new heroes have lost their honor and discipline, wrecking property and endangering human lives with their battle royale, and theyre nearly indistinguishable from villains. Something has to be done and thus begins a story that involves some of the most epic battles in comic book history. Of course, it ostensibly stars a minister wandering around with The Spectre, musing on gods and men That might be a little hard to swallow for casual movie goers. Still, after our lust is partly satiated by the Justice League of America movie, this is a storyline fanboys will rightly be salivating over the prospect of seeing.
