10 Incredibly Annoying Characters Who Almost Ruined 2013 Movies

1. Katniss - The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Controversial perhaps, but there is logic behind this apparent madness. Despite the success of Catching Fire - which was as enjoyable as watching children and former children killing each other at the behest of a totalitarian government can get - and how well Jennifer Lawrence portrays the character, there's something wrong with the source that just can't be ignored. Because of the way the narrative unveils itself in Catching Fire, it was inevitable that Katniss was going to feel incredibly annoying: it's part of her character arc after all. Think about it: in the books, everything is from her perspective, and we relate with her and root for her (both romantically and otherwise) because her internal dialogue is giving us a glimpse into what she's thinking. But in the movies, and particularly in the sequel, she hardly says anything. She simply stares at the other characters like she's thinking deeply, and has limited dialogue, thanks to the abundance of action sequences. This is exactly how it goes in the books, of course, because she is a stoic character who lets her actions speak for her. The problem is that it's extremely difficult to understand her motivations in the film when her thoughts are left to our imaginations. How does she really feel about Peeta and Gale? What does she really think about Finnick and Johanna? Why is she having nightmares? These are all questions the books thoroughly answer, but the films leave out, making Katniss's character feel unfortunately incomplete. Which characters do you think almost ruined 2013 movies?
